Art therapy can help deepen and even heal relationships within your group, team, or community

Are you part of a group that would like to cultivate more connection, safety, or trust? Art therapy can be a great fit for:

  • workplace staff teams

  • sports teams

  • boards of directors

  • faith groups

  • groups of friends or family

  • people that have been through a significant event together

In an art therapy session for teams, group members are guided through a shared art therapy experience and related group discussion. Team therapy is relational and provides peer support, fostering a sense of community and belonging. It can be empowering to be witnessed by others and validating to be seen and heard by people who may share similar experiences and concerns.

Expect to make art together or work alone alongside one another depending on the concerns/themes being addressed in the session. During the discussion period, if a client would like to share and discuss their art, this is guided by the therapist and witnessed by the other group members. Each participant may choose whether to share or not during the discussion portions. In group art therapy witnessing and being witnessed is an important part of the process.

The format of an art therapy group for teams varies.
